About Veilwater

Veilwater is a gothic fantasy webcomic about grief, memory, reflection, and the things waiting beneath black water.  The story follows Myles Zel'va, a young illusionist and water mage haunted by the disappearance of someone he cannot let go of. As whispers begin rising from Blackwater Creek, Myles and his companions are drawn into a journey through ancient ruins, forgotten magic, political unrest, fractured reflections, and truths that refuse to stay buried.

Blending atmospheric horror, emotional character drama, mystery, adventure, and cinematic fantasy storytelling, Veilwater focuses heavily on mood, visual symbolism, and the emotional weight of memory and loss.

This project is independently created and developed by Peter Fournier.

 

Creation Process & AI Disclosure

VEILWATER is a creator-directed webcomic developed using a combination of:

AI tools are used as part of the visual production workflow under direct creative guidance and iterative artistic direction. Every page, scene, character moment, design choice, narrative beat, and visual composition is curated, revised, and assembled specifically for VEILWATER’s story and atmosphere.

The focus of the project is not automation, but the creation of an immersive and emotionally resonant fantasy world through an evolving independent creative pipeline.
